Manchester United have been linked with a move for Colombian right-back Santiago Arias, who is currently a free agent after being released by Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window.

Despite already making a number of signings in the recent window, it appears that United are still on the lookout for further reinforcements, with Arias being one of their targets.
Arias joined Atletico Madrid in 2018 for a fee of around £11 million, but he struggled to establish himself as a regular in the team due to a series of injuries.

He made 51 appearances for the club but found himself behind Kieran Trippier and Sime Vrsaljko in the pecking order under manager Diego Simeone. Arias was loaned out twice during his time at Atletico, first to Bayer Leverkusen and then to Granada.
Despite his struggles in Spain, Arias is still a highly regarded player with plenty of potential. He is known for his speed, skill, and attacking abilities, and has been a regular for the Colombian national team, earning over 50 caps since his debut in 2013.

At the age of 29, Arias still has several years of his career ahead of him and could be a valuable addition to United’s squad.
If United do decide to pursue Arias, they would not have to pay a transfer fee as he is currently a free agent. However, they would need to move quickly as he is likely to attract interest from other clubs.
United are currently enjoying a good run of form, with four straight Premier League wins moving them up to fifth in the table. However, they will be looking to strengthen their squad in order to maintain their momentum and challenge for major honours this season.
