Cristiano Ronaldo is still without a club following Portugal’s World Cup exit, with the uncertainty around his future reportedly putting a strain on his relationship with agent Jorge Mendes

Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with agent Jorge Mendes is under increasing tension, according to reports.
Mendes is still trying to find a new club for Ronaldo following the mutual termination of his Manchester United contract last month. Options are limited for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, making it a tricky task.
And Spanish outlet AS report uncertainty is putting a strain on the pair’s relationship. They claim the tension between them has “rocketed” in recent days, similar to how it did when Ronaldo wanted out of Juventus and returned to United in 2021.
That has supposedly led Ronaldo to listen to alternative suggestions than those presented by his long-time agent, whom he’s been working with for the best part of two decades.
One of those offers is said to come from Antero Henrique, the head of the Qatar Stars League, who wants to keep him in the Gulf nation following Portugal’s disappointing World Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of Morocco.

Ronaldo has also been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, with reports claiming he could earn a jaw-dropping £350million over the course of a two-season deal.
The 37-year-old has previously moved to dispel that possibility, telling reporters: “There is nothing in it.” But outside of that, he’s lacking in interested parties.
