Reports suggest that Manchester United have formally declared their interest in Atalanta striker Joakim Maehle Hojlund.

The 20-year-old Danish star has been in impressive form this season, scoring eight goals for the Italian club, before netting a hat-trick on his Denmark debut last month and bagging another two strikes in the following game.
United have reportedly submitted a “letter of interest” to Atalanta, joining Spanish giants Real Madrid in pursuit of Hojlund’s signature. While not a binding offer, the letter indicates that United are serious about the striker and may soon make a concrete bid.

However, Hojlund is not the only player on United’s radar, with the club reportedly interested in “three to five” strikers on manager Erik ten Hag’s wishlist.
United may face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for Hojlund’s services, both of whom are also interested in signing the Danish star.
While neither club has yet submitted a formal letter of interest, they are said to be keeping a close eye on Hojlund’s situation. Other European clubs are also in the running, including Napoli, AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich.

Despite the intense competition, Hojlund is reportedly not thinking about his future until he signs with a new agency, which could happen in the coming weeks.
It remains to be seen where Hojlund will end up next season, and there is a chance he could remain at Atalanta for another year.
However, United’s interest in the striker is a clear indication of their ambitions for the future, and a move for Hojlund could be a significant step in their bid to return to the top of English and European football.
