Cristiano Ronaldo has been a family man ever since he emerged in the soccer world. The Portuguese has been spotted at award ceremonies quite a few times with his mother and son in the past.
And this time around Ronaldo has talked about wanting to play with his son on the field.
The former Real Madrid forward’s son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., is a budding soccer player training to become a professional in the game. The 12-year-old is currently training with an academy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
He has previously played for Manchester United and Juventus’s academy teams.
While the youngster is still starting his journey as a professional player, Ronaldo has talked about his son’s feelings to play alongside his father on the field.
Talking in an interview some years back, Ronaldo stated that his son wanted to play with his father before retiring.
He said: “Sometimes my son will say to me, ‘Dad, keep going for a few more years, as I want to be able to play with you’.”
Ronaldo is entering the twilight of his career after his transfer out of Europe. He still believes that even though he is aging, he can still play alongside his son before calling it quits.
He further added: “That would be very difficult, but I can do it. You never know.”
It will be interesting to see whether Cristiano will have it in him to continue till his son becomes a professional player. The 12-year-old still has a long way to go to complete his dream of playing with his father.
