Conor McGregor Claims to Overtake Cristiano Ronaldo on Forbes Rich List

Conor McGregor, the Irish mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, has recently claimed that he has surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese soccer star, on the Forbes Rich List. Ronaldo continues to top the list as the highest-earning athlete with a reported £67 million,
but McGregor, with his recent earnings from his super-fight against Floyd Mayweather in August, is confident he will become the new top earner.

McGregor took to social media to share his claim with his followers, posting a picture of himself filming for a new Burger King advert, stating: “Making deals and TAKING deals! Kings recognise Kings! I am really interested to see this years Forbes highest-paid athletes list.
I have now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo as I told him I would in 2016.” McGregor met Ronaldo in 2016 during a training session, where he joked about overtaking him on the Forbes list, to which Ronaldo laughed, saying he didn’t think so.
Since then, McGregor’s earnings have skyrocketed with his tenth-round TKO against Mayweather, thought to have earned him a staggering £77 million.
McGregor claims that Mayweather, who is nicknamed “Money,” earns nothing since retiring and should join him in the Octagon to boost his bank balance.
“Floyd as a retired fighter that makes ZERO substantial revenue outside of them ropes is not on the list, and in the long game, is already dead. Mixed Martial Arts is a glorious game, Floyd. You are going to love it hahaha,” he wrote on social media.

side from his claims on the Forbes Rich List, McGregor also continued his feud with rapper 50 Cent, who he taunted on social media after being blocked by him. The rapper responded, threatening to get Mayweather to “kick [McGregor’s] ass up and down the street.”
Although McGregor’s claim to have overtaken Ronaldo on the Forbes Rich List is yet to be officially confirmed, there’s no denying that he has made a significant impact in the world of combat sports and entertainment in recent years. The coming Forbes list will certainly make for interesting reading for sports fans around the globe.
